The most loved mood freshening Biryani (Rice and meat cooked together with spices)

Here I bring you the most simple and flavorful biryani recipe to try out.

Biryani is my personal favorite and I assure you that you won't regret it after trying out the below recipe, it's super easy and delicious 😋.


About Biryani :


The word 'biryani' is derived from a Persian word, birian, which means fried before cooking. Biryani is a mixed rice dish originating among the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. It contains a mix of Indian spices, rice, meat, chicken, or eggs. The most popular form of Biryani is the Chicken Biryani. Biryani is one of the most popular dishes in South Asia, as well as among most parts of the world.



Ingredients:

  1. Basmati rice

  2. Chicken/ Meat

  3. Ginger, garlic, and green chilly paste

  4. Curd/yogurt

  5. Whole spices (Garam masala)( cloves, cardamom, pepper, bay leaves, cinnamon, cumin

  6. Garam masala powder (spices powder)

  7. Tomato

  8. Onion (fried until golden brown)

  9. Coriander leaves

  10. Salt

  11. Vinegar

  12. Oil

  13. Fried potato (optional)

Marination process :

  1. In a bowl put the chicken/meat

  2. Add ginger, garlic, and green chilly paste, yogurt, garam masala powder, tomato, fried onions, chopped coriander, fried potato, salt

  3. Mix all the added ingredients well with the chicken/meat and keep it in the refrigerator for 1 hour

Cooking process :

  1. In a pot add water and let it boil for 5 minutes

  2. To the boiled water add whole spices, chopped coriander, vinegar, and some oil

  3. Now add the basmati rice and let it cook for 15 minutes

  4. After 15 minutes, drain the water from the rice and keep it aside

  5. Add some oil to a pot, add the marinated chicken/meat and cook it for 5 minutes

Layering process :

  1. For the first layer, in a pot add some chicken and then add cooked rice above it

  2. On the rice, add some oil, chopped coriander, and fried onion

  3. Again repeat the steps to make a seconder layer.

  4. Then close the lid and let it cook on low flame for about 30 minutes

  5. Enjoy it with salad or curd 😋
