Who does not love fish curry, it's my all-time favorite comfort food. Check out my easy peasy to die for Fish Curry recipe 😋
About Fish Curry :
Fish curry is an Indian, Goan dish. It consists of sardines semi-stewed in a Kerala-style curry with assorted vegetables (optional), such as okra or onions. It is usually served with rice, naan, and bread. I usually prefer it with steamed rice.
Ingredients:
Fish (of your choice, I prefer Indo-Pacific king mackerel which is Surmai)
Garlic
Onion
Cumin seeds
Coconut
Red chilly powder
Turmeric powder
Green chilly
Curry leaves
Tomato
Salt
lemon
Oil
Steps for Marinating Fish:
In a bowl take fish pieces, add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt, squeeze lemon and keep aside in the refrigerator for 20 mins.
Take a pan, add oil, add the marinated fish and fry from both sides till it turns golden
Now in a grinder, add desiccated coconut, garlic cloves, cumin seeds, and tomato and grind into a paste form.
Now in a pot, add oil and chopped onions. When the onions turn golden brown, add the grinded paste, add turmeric powder, green chilly, red chilly powder, salt, curry leaves and sauté for 20 minutes.
When the mixture turns brown, add some water and let it boil for 10 minutes.
Now add the fried fish to water, close the lid and let it cook for 10 minutes.
Serve with steamed rice 😍
