About Lauki Halwa:
Dudhi halwa or lauki halwa is an Indian sweet that includes bottle gourd, sugar, and milk. It gets its aroma and flavor from cardamom. Bottle gourd vegetable is known as dudhi, ghiya, opo squash, lauki in different parts of the world.
The halwa is mild green in color, however, in order to enhance the color, artificial food coloring can be added. I personally do not prefer adding artificial colors.
Ingredients:
Bottle Gourd (Grated)
Milk (of your choice)
Sugar/Honey/Jaggery
Cardamom
Ghee (Clarified butter)
Nuts
Steps for cooking:
In a pan add milk and let it boil for 5 minutes.
To the boiled milk add grated bottle gourd, sugar, cardamom, and ghee.
Let it cook on a medium flame for 20 minutes
Garnish with nuts of your choice and serve it hot or cold and enjoy!😋
